Please check out the
MIAMA Mentorship Program
As discussed at the 2019 MIAMA Fall Conference, MIAMA has introduced a mentorship program within MIAMA. |
The purpose of the MIAMA mentorship program is to connect industry employees that may want guidance or need help in areas that they may feel deficient or lack in confidence.MIAMA would like to extend an invite to all MIAMA members to be part of the program. |
- “Mentors” will provide information and experiences that they have with a person that they have been set up with. While there will be no exact outline to follow, we would anticipate some topics that mentors will cover to include;
- Facility operations topics such as, Budgets, Software/Scheduling, Operations, Maintenance.
- Interpersonal topics such as, Public Relations, Dealing with City Councils and Boards, Dealing with Bosses and coworkers, Dealing with Contractors
- As your relationship develops with your “student” you will work your own
processes based on the “students” questions.
- “Students” will be able to connect with professionals in the industry to help guide them through the different aspects of the job that they may need some help with. While there will be no exact outline to follow, we would anticipate some topics that “students’ will want help from their Mentors are;
- Facility operations topics such as, Budgets, Software/Scheduling, Operations, Maintenance.
- Interpersonal topics such as, Public Relations, Dealing with City Councils and Boards, Dealing with Bosses and coworkers, Dealing with Contractors.
- As your relationship develops with your Mentor, you will work through your own processes based on the questions and needs you have. This program is not intended to replace facility specific procedures. The intention is to offer the students a different perspective and alternative resources to advance their industry knowledge and career path options.
- We also want the “Students” to communicate with their supervisor that they would like to participate in the program. The goal of the program is to help people and not cause any conflict between “Students” and their supervisors.
