Arena Members on the move:
Erik Halverson has been hired as the new Ice Arena Manager at the Plymouth Ice Center replacing Bill Abel who is retiring. MIAMA thanks Bill for his years of service and we wish him luck in his retirement! Look for a member spotlight on Erik Halverson soon as he takes over the reins from Bill.
Joe Amundson has been hired as the Director of Ice Operations at the Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. Joe was recently the Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Thief River Falls, MN.
Mike Chapley from Active Network / Maximum Solutions is leaving the company. MIAMA thanks Mike for his years of service and support of MIAMA. Mike’s replacement is Casey Huberty. Welcome Casey to the MIAMA community!.
MIAMA Member Questions:
I’m wondering if you can send out an email to the members asking for their input or better to send me their facility use policy and procedures. I’m really looking for information on crowd control on players/kids running around the facility unsupervised during practices/high school games and junior hockey games. I’d also like to receive input on what their policy is when players/kids are dropped off several hours before games or practices start.
Please contact: Rob Baumgarn – Arena Manager with the City of Willmar

We recently had our Division III home opener for Trine University here in Algona, Indiana. We had rubber backed rugs for the occasion, but they slid all over the place and some of the people almost fell down. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for future events?
